"Outside Steer
"
24”x48” Oil
One pasture on many ranches in West Texas may be many sections in
size. Often a steer will be missed during the roundup. The steer will go
wild and cause the other cattle to do the same. So, the steer must be
roped and removed. This animal is referred to as an "outside steer"
because he was outside the roundup pattern.

"Donde los
Caballos Beben"
(where horses drink) 20”X36” Oil
Cocoa, Peanut, and Dunnie were my
wrangler horse at the Teralingua Ranch south of Alpine, Texas.
They were raised on the ranch and knew where the water pockets were
located. These water holes came up from a spring. They were used by the
Indians and Mexicans.

"Lightning Stampede" 36"x48" Oil
The buffalo still roam in the Davis Mountains of Texas. When you want
a buffalo to go north you push him south. They took over the state park
area at the "Rock Pile". Huge rocks larger buildings are piled together.
We used to play on them as kids. The state had to fence off the area to
protect to public.

"Dinner Time" 10"x12" Acrylic
Many time I will paint an
underpainting in acrylics before adding color. I liked this painting in
black and white so well I left it that way. It say so much like it is
that I do believe that color would improve it.
